With the news that Bobby Beattie has signed with London Scottish it further cements a relationship with the Exiles that goes back to their founding

A fellow Glasgow Academical R.H. Hedderwick was a founding father in 1878
In 1880 they embarked on their first tour to play Edinburgh Wanderers and Glasgow Accies Beattie’s original club

Since 1878 many players from Hawks founder clubs have played at The Athletic Ground including Scottish Caps Andrew Dykes Glasgow Accies (Chris Reid’s grandfather) and Donald Cameron Glasgow HSFP ( Ewan’s father) who was known as the Richmond Flyer

In more recent times Hawks Kenny Baillie was their CEO moving on to a key role with UK Rowing and George Horne and Andrew Davidson also played with them before obtaining deals with Glasgow and Newcastle Falcons respectively .Bobby now follows in their footsteps
