Sport can be a cruel master and in January it dealt Andy Hill a severe blow
An injury sustained at Mansfield Park against Hawick has brought his rugby career to a premature end
He is due to return to work shortly but has called time on his rugby career
Andy always typified the no nonsense attitude of Lanarkshire not an area particularly renowned for rugby but an area renowned for producing some of Scotlands greatest sportsmen and sportswomen especially sports that required hard yards and Andy was a hard yards player
He has been a great servant to both Hawks and Hamilton and on that basis alone deserves our thanks
From my personal perspective Andy was just Andy and I will miss his banter
I am sure he will have fresh challenges and goals in mind which he will achieve of that I have no doubt
So all the best Andy and thanks for all these yards especially the hard ones and there were plenty of them
